Ivy Hill Community Grows Closer While Sharing "Why They Ivy"

Ivy Hill Therapeutic Equestrian Center Community is sharing their stories  of what led them to Ivy Hill, and what keeps them coming back in touching social media posts.

PERKASIE, PA 4/24/2020 - Ivy Hill Therapeutic Equestrian Center - the leading therapeutic equestrian center in the region serving individuals with cognitive, physical, emotional, behavioral and psychological needs - is taking this time apart to grow closer as a community and focus on what riders, families, and volunteers have in common: a love for Ivy Hill.

Using the #WHYiIVY hashtag on Facebook and Instagram, the Ivy Hill family is sharing what brought them to Ivy Hill, and what keeps them coming back. What has emerged is a heartfelt tribute to the benefits of equine therapy, the special needs community, and the incalculable impact Ivy Hill has had on so many lives.

“With riders being forced to take a hiatus from their time with their favorite four-legged miracle workers, the #WHYiIVY campaign is something that continues to unite this community of riders, instructors, staff, and supporters,” said Laura Brockett-Strausser, Executive Director of Ivy Hill Therapeutic Equestrian Center. “As we navigate through these difficult times we have an amazing opportunity to focus on what brings us together and share our stories with those throughout our neighborhoods.”

There have already been many heart warming testimonials to the power of Ivy Hill and equine therapy:

·         “So you ask #WHYiIVY? Because, if our lives had been reversed, Dave would do everything I’m doing and more for me.” - Chris Brockett, President of Ivy Hill Foundation, writing about his late brother, Dave, who lived with special needs.

·         “It gets me through the tough times that I have had.” - Lia, Ivy Hill Rider

·         “They treat me the same, it’s like a second home to me.” Sophia, Ivy Hill Rider

·         “I am honored & blessed to be in the company of 16 magnificent horses every week to groom, tack, lead & most of all love & hug. The past weeks have been extremely hard due to not being able to see them but we are all 1 day closer to putting this all behind us”. Debbie Knouse, Ivy Hill Volunteer
